The GF-EGF Regional Architecture (RA) aims to guide the implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in the region. It focuses on coordinating funding, deployment, information sharing, and operations of ITS technologies. The primary goals for the GF-EGF region include enhancing traveler safety, managing traffic and transit effectively, coordinating both planned and emergency management, and improving traveler information. This fifth iteration of the RA is part of an ongoing maintenance process designed to keep the architecture current by incorporating the latest FHWA reference architecture, identifying recent project updates, and documenting the system architecture of the newest ITS developments in the region.
